Four Little Lambs on Good Shepherd Sunday

April

Monday May 9th, 2022

Here are a few updates about what’s going on at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church:

Women’s Retreat. Please pray for the 12 women from Holy Spirit and St. Paul’s who are on retreat this weekend at Camp Marshall.

Summer Camping Program at Camp Marshall. There are fliers in the back of the church with details about the summer camping programs. The season starts off with Grace Camp, a camp for children who have parents who are incarcerated. If you know of children who could benefit from this free camping experience please contact Jocelyn Snider 406-360-6152. There is a camp for Junior Middlers (upper elementary through middle school), senior high camp, and two family camps to choose from. Special financial assistance is available this year. Visit campmarshallmontana.org to learn more.

Pentecost & Pilgrimage Sunday. Pentecost is Sunday June 5th. Plan now to wear red to the service and celebrate the movement of the Holy Spirit. This year we’ll also have the opportunity to hear stories from the pilgrims who recently travelled to the Mexican border. The Nelsons and Rev. Gretchen will share about the work of the Holy Spirit in the Rio Grande Borderlands Ministry, a project of the Episcopal Church. After worship everyone is invited to stay to hear other stories, from other pilgrims, and to see the video that has been created. A Mexican meal with tamales and chips and salsa will be served and you might even have a chance to purchase some treasures the groups brought back from Mexico.

Diversity Service: We’re All Created in God’s Image. June is Pride month and St. Paul’s is collaborating with Faith Lutheran, The Presbyterian Church and Corvallis United Methodist to host this service on Monday June 13 at 7:00 pm. This community-wide service will be held at St. Paul’s this year. If you are interested in helping with this service please contact Rev. Gretchen.

Vacation Bible School. Mark your calendar for VBS which happens July 11 – 15. Please begin thinking and planning about who you might invite to attend. This event is co-sponsored by the Lutherans, Presbyterians, United Methodists and us. This VBS program typically serves unchurched families in the Valley who are in need of some summer childcare. It’s a great opportunity to share God’s love with God’s kids! The program is for 1st – 6th graders and runs 9 am to 1 pm every day that week. A preschool program for 4 and 5 year old siblings will also be offered from 9 to 11:30 each morning. Snacks and lunch will be served daily. Wednesday evening of that week all are invited to a potluck at Lake Como. It will be a great time to join your brothers and sisters in Christ across these mainline denominations (even if your children have not participated in VBS). The final day of VBS, Friday the 15th of July, families are invited to join their children for lunch and the children will put on a program for their parents. Volunteers are needed to: Provide homemade cookies, help in the kitchen 9 – 1 daily, be an assistant in the kitchen 2 or 3 days that week, be a teen assistant in a classroom 9 – 1 every day that week.

Volunteer Opportunities

Lay Readers: We have two new readers and we will be offering a training soon. If you are interested in reading Scripture in worship now is a great time to join the crew and get in on the training.

Bulletin: We are looking for a volunteer(s) who are detail oriented and passionate about worship to help with creating and printing the worship bulletin. This is a job that is best shared so it doesn’t rest on one individual. If you are interested in learning more about being part of the bulletin team, please contact Rev. Gretchen.

Donations Needed

Little Free Pantry: Our pantry is being used! It could benefit from some more food donations.
